    Yuki Kusama

    Musashino Art University Graduation Exhibition 2021 (Japan)

    Mesmerized by Disney’s movies, Yuki wanted to learn how to breathe life into characters as an animator and enrolled into Musashino Art University, Faculty of Imaging Arts and Sciences. He polished his skills as an animator through online classes and created the short film Picnic as his graduation piece.

    Gérome Barry studied cinema at Fémis, where he graduated from the Production department. Gérome Barry has directed several short films: “Séraphin”, “Le Grand Nombre” and “Suicide Expres”, before his first feature “Swing Rendez-vous”. “Expedition Under My Bed” marks Gérome Barry’s return to short films through small form made during the confinement.

    The small recording device named REC lives alone in an abandoned attic when a bird appears at the window and he wants to talk to it. But when the bird hears REC’s “voice” it flies away in terror. Now REC tries everything to record the bird’s song, but its battery will soon be exhausted.

    Vojin is a film and theatre director, scriptwriter and producer, teaching animation at The Academy of Arts in Belgrade. His films (5 Minutes Each, Twice Upon a Time, Breathtaking) were enrolled in more than 150 international film festivals for which he won over 50 awards. He runs To Blink Animation studio in Belgrade and Toronto.

    Itsuki Kamei

    Born in Tokyo, Kamei is a fourth year student at Nihon University College of Art’s Visual Expression and Theory Course. In his sophomore year, he made his first animation and won the Excellence Award at GEMSTONE’s 4th Shinjuku Animator Audition. Since then, he decided to pursue a career in animation and is currently working on his graduation project.

    Jose Prats

    Jose Prats is a filmmaker, storyboarder and illustrator, and works for Aardman Studios. He studied Fine Arts at the universities of Murcia, Valencia and Accademia Albertina and then began his career as a Concept Artist in Spanish, Mexican and Finnish studios. In 2015, he collaborated on the animated feature film “”Capture the Flag”” (Lightbox Animation Studio) and studied filmmaking and sceenwriting at the Metropolis Film School. In 2017, he participated in the animation laboratory Animation Sans Frontières.
    Alvaro Robles graduated at the Metropolis Film School with a Screenwriting/Directing Degree. He then pursued a professional career as an editor in several advertising agencies in Madrid. He codirected and wrote the short film “”Mara, Maravillas”” with José Prats.

    Milen was born 1978 in Prague (Czech Republic) and raised in Sofia (Bulgaria). He spent many days and nights drawing on his first self-made light box. He graduated Animation from the University of Film and Television HFF “Konrad Wolf” in Potsdam (Germany) in 2007. He committed himself to the alchemy of 2D/3D mixtures.
